- Father Joseph Mohr was reading The Holy Bible
- Where was he? In his study room, in Hallein.
- Where is Hallein? it is a village In the Austrian Alps

- Why were the children and all filled with excitement? because it was holy eve.
- Where did they all go? to the Midnight Mass.
- What was he reading? The story of the shepherds.
- what did the angel say to them?"Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour".
- Who knocked at his door suddenly? A peasant woman.
- What did she tell him? "A child is born at the other side of the mountain.They want him to come and bless the infant.
- Where did he go? Father Mohr went to a ramshackle ,old and rickety hut.
- Whom did he meet there? The young mother smiling happily.
- What was he reminded of? The words from the Bible.

- What did he see on his return to the valley?
- The dark slopes were alight with the torches of the villagers on their way to the church.
- What happened suddenly then? Bells began to ring from all the villages far and near.
- What did he do after midnight service?He wrote a poem.
- What was the next day?Christmas day.

- Franz Xavier Gruber, the music teacher at the village school.
- What did he do? He read the poem, composed music to fit the verses.
- What happened to the poem? It became a song.

- Why did they play guitar? The church organ,which has keys like Piano and is played at the church was out of order.
- Who came to repair the church organ? The organ builder.
- What did they do then? They all practised this song along with the organ.

- What did the people say about these children? They sing just like Nightingales.

- What were their parents? the glove makers
- How did the children help them? They helped display and sell soft gloves.
- What did they do there? They sang together.
- Wha happened then? Passer-by stopped to listen and enchanted by the beautiful melodious tune.
- Who introduced himself as the Director General of music in the kingdom of Saxony.? An elderly gentleman.
- What did he give the children? tickets for one of the concerts ,he conducted.
- Why were they rapt,absolutely dazed and engrossed?
- They entered a brilliantly lit auditorium filled with silk-hatted men and ladies in gowns.
- What did the director do?He introduced the children to the crowd by calling them all on the stage.
- What did he ask them to do? To sing the song for the king and queen of Saxony.
- Maly and others whispered among themselves and what did they say among themselves?"Let's just shut our eyes and pretend we are singing at home."
- Wha happened when they finished the song? there was a great applause.The children sang all the songs they knew.
- finally they sang once again the song,"Song from Heaven."
- Who said to the majesty about the song and what did he say? when introduced to the king,Joseph said,"It is a folk song,your Majesty."
- What did the queen ask of them? "Won't you come to the castle and sing it in Christmas."
- When did the Strasser children sing this song and where?
- On the holy eve of the year 1832 .in the Royal Saxon Court Chapel..at the end of the Christmas Service.
- What happened afterwards? Until Gruber lived this song was sung in the village of Hallein.
- then it went on airs on the radio all over the world.
